Lake LaDonna Family Campground, a family-friendly campground is located near White Pines Forest Nature Preserve (and the city of Oregon). You may meet people while you are here, as with all tourist destinations. You will find plenty of amenities in the campground including swimming pools, a gaming room, and well-stocked restrooms and showers. In fact, it's so popular that they have a waiting list.
There are plenty of campers who are snooty, so make sure you have the right people. Thankfully, the staff isn't too picky. The campground can be found just east on Oregon at 1302 S Harmony Road. The campground is open April 15-October 15, but reservations may be required. May and September are the most popular months for camping, with June and October being slower. Special rules apply for pet owners. The campground is located just a short distance from several attractions, including White Pines (a sylvan oasis on the prairie) and Oregon Museum of History. There are also a handful of restaurants and brewpubs to keep you from going hungry. As a bonus, you're right in the heart of Ogle County's largest tourism hub. There are lots of other fun activities in the area, including cruising Washington, Illinois, a charming riverfront community. A number of parks and small lakes are found in the immediate area. They are perfect for pets as well as kids.
