REI Backpacking Tents

REI tents offer the highest quality camping gear. They are made in Vietnam or China and are durable. They are also reasonably priced. They are available for rent or sale in many styles, including one-person (two-person), and three-person (three-person).

The REI Flash Air may be the right choice for you if your goal is to have a light tent for two. The REI Flash Air is a single-wall tent that features a mesh roof and a mesh body. Although it is lighter than the REI Quarter Dome SL, it does not have the same floor space.

Although the REI Flash Air has many great features, it cannot be compared to other products, like Zpacks' Duplex. Both shelters use Dyneema materials. This fabric is durable and very cost-effective. These shelters also come with a fully-featured rain fly and an integrated footprint which increase the shelter's weight.

The Quarter Dome SL 2 has a lower price than the Flash Air but is not as light. It weighs in just over nine ounces as opposed to the Flash Air's nine-and-a-half ounces. Although the floor area remains the same, the quarter-dome's pole structure makes the quarter-dome more freestanding than the Flash Air. The Flash Air is an affordable option for ultralight backpackers.

The REI Co-op Half Dome SL2+ tent is spacious enough for two people. It also provides a comfortable sleeping area. The tent has an open interior, extra width, high-quality components, and spacious dimensions. It's an excellent choice for three season camping. Although it is heavier than most tents, the tent is still very durable. It is expected to last for many years.

Although the Coleman Instant Tent costs a little more, its setup is very simple. The four poles are all the same color, so it's easy to match. The tent comes with a set of matching sleeves and colored shock cords, making the process even easier. It is also easy to pack. It's not quite as durable and can't be used in severe weather. It's not suitable for stormy conditions.

While the REI Trail Hut 2 weighs more than other tents in this category, it still offers great value. It's also roomy for six people. It does not have window zips outs. However, it does come equipped with a footprint as well as plenty of pockets. The extra stakes are useful, too. Although the REI Base Camp 6 doesn't have a zipper out window, it is well-made and has plenty of room for six people.

The REI Co-op Kingdom 4 tent is similar but smaller. It is also durable with a 150-denier polyester floor fabric coated in polyester and a 75 denier polyester rain fly. It will fit REI’s Kingdom insulated sleep system that can hold 40 mattresses. Its peak height is 75 inches. This makes it ideal for hanging lanterns without hitting your forehead. You will find more pockets and privacy dividers.
