
Fort Welikit Family Campground is a brand new addition to Customer, SD. There are 100 sites to choose from, so there is something for everyone. Although it lacks the brand name amenities of a Sturgis campground, it still has all the amenities that you would expect in a stately campground. Its location is a definite plus. This is the place to go if you are looking for somewhere to stay in the Black Hills.
The Fort Welikit Family Campground & RV Park is located on the scenic Norbeck Highway. This area offers many attractions and is popular with those who come to the area to ski, fish, golf, or do other outdoor activities. Hot Springs is the home of the Mammoth Site. This site has interesting information about the Pleistocene era. Hot Springs also offers tours through the Wind Cave.

Apart from the numerous campsites, there is also a dog park as well as a small playground. A grass volleyball court is available as well. The campground has an overhead shelter as well, which is a nice addition. There is also an overhead showerhouse.
There are many amenities at the campground, including a dog park and laundry facilities. There is also free Wi-Fi available at the campground. The Wi-Fi may not be the best but it will keep you connected when you are on the road. It might not work on all channels.
The best thing about this park? It's located near some of the region's most fascinating attractions like Crazy Horse, Badger Clark, Jewel Cave and Badger Clark. This campground is also within walking distance to the main street of Custer. It makes it easy to get around the area. You can also ride the Crazy Horse bus from the park to get around if you're not in the mood to drive. It departs approximately every half hour.
The Fort Welikit Family Campground is the only area campground to receive a "Great Service Star" from the South Dakota Department of Tourism. This award recognizes campgrounds that provide exceptional service and offer a wide range of amenities. These include a fully fenced dog park and a picnic table. This is a great spot to bike or hike.

The park hosts the annual Sturgis Motorcycle Rally in the summer. The campground is an ideal basecamp for those who are visiting the area to attend the Sturgis rally. You can also enjoy the nearby hiking trails and the Black Bear Golf Course if you don't want to ride big bikes. If you don't have a reservation yet, the camp is a very popular spot during the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally.
